Summer boost: NB Education Foundation awards $25K in grants

NEW BEDFORD — Summer is a time when most New Bedford Public School children are not spending their days in school, but that doesn’t mean that learning should stop. To the contrary, summer is a critical time for students to retain and build upon the academic skills they gained during the school year.

To support summer learning, the New Bedford Education Foundation has announced the award of $25,000 in Summer Grants for a total of 11 nonprofit organizations who plan to work with nearly 3,500 New Bedford Public School children throughout the city this summer.
